Bed Frame Disassembly Questions to Answer Before Pickup

Identify the complete setup

List the headboard, footboard, side rails, center supports, slats, drawers, canopy pieces, and any powered base. Say whether the headboard is attached to the frame or wall.

Mattresses are a separate item category. Include them in the item list rather than assuming they are part of the bed-frame pickup.

Decide who handles disassembly

Ask whether disassembly is part of the agreed scope and which tools or access are needed. If you disassemble the frame yourself, take photos first, label groups of hardware, and avoid stripping unfamiliar fasteners.

Do not open powered bases, gas-lift storage mechanisms, or damaged structures without the manufacturer’s instructions and appropriate help.

Hardware checklist

Use a separate bag for each frame.

Label the bag by room or frame.

Tape the bag to a component only if the finish will not be damaged.

Keep hardware with you if the frame may be donated, sold, or rebuilt.

Clear the room

Remove bedding, lamps, rugs that can slide, under-bed storage, and wall art near the path. Photograph stairs and corners, then share the item list and access notes when requesting the pickup.
